LACVI Presents: A Walk in the Park

Published Wed 01 Dec 2021

Although the Federation Square in-person festival events have been cancelled, social distancing doesn’t mean disconnecting from your friends.

To help stay active, LACVI came up with an activity that can be reproduced in any local council area, local government COVID rules at the time permitting of course.

We, in conjunction with the Victorian Seniors Festival, organised LACVI Presents: A Walk in the Park: A walk around Melbourne’s majestic gardens using walking maps from the Victoria Walks website. Walking maps were provided with points of interest explained along the way.

This walk was guided by our very own Sue Van Gerrevink on Wednesday 1st December at 10.30am.
It began at Princes Bridge next to Flinders Street Station, heading on to the Arts Centre, then the National Gallery of Victoria and across St Kilda Rd to the Royal Botanic Gardens. Just over 1 hour long, 4.65 km with an intermediate difficulty level.

Exercising, learning and interacting with friendly people made it an enjoyable event. Thank you Sue.
